Fun, Frugal, and Functional
Do you love your dog, but hate the idea of spending a fortune on toys that will only be played with for a few minutes? Are you looking for a fun, frugal, and functional way to keep your pup entertained? If so, then we have the perfect solution for you: DIY dog toys! We will show you how to make three different types of DIY dog toys using materials that you probably already have in your home. After teaching them a few tricks, bring them to Pet groomers near me to get perfect haircut!
The first thing you will need for this project is a stuffing-less plush toy. You can either purchase one at your local pet store, or make one yourself using an old sock and some rice. If you decide to go the DIY route, simply stuff the sock with rice and tie it off at the end. Next, take an empty water bottle and insert it into the sock. The bottle should be snug enough that your dog cannot remove it, but not so tight that they cannot move it around.
Now that you have your materials, let’s get started on making these fun toys!
The first type of toy we will be making is a squeaky toy. For this toy, you will need a stuffing-less plush toy and an empty water bottle. First, insert the water bottle into the plush toy. Next, take a sharpie and make a small dot on the water bottle. When your dog squeezes the toy, the air will escape from the hole and make a squeaky noise.
The second type of toy we will be making is a fetch toy. For this toy, you will need an empty water bottle and a tennis ball. First, cut a small hole in the tennis ball so that it is big enough to fit around the neck of the water bottle. Next, insert the water bottle into the tennis ball and secure it in place with duct tape. When you throw this toy for your dog, they will be able to pick it up easily and bring it back to you.
The third and final type of toy we will be making is a tug toy. For this toy, you will need an empty water bottle and a rope. First, tie the rope around the neck of the water bottle. Next, make a knot in the rope so that it is secure. When you play tug with your dog, they will be able to grip the bottle easily and won’t be able to pull it out of the rope.
